Enno Roellgen's Accident
Hi Everyone, here is the public copy of the accident report for Enno Roellgen's crash. I've left their names out of the report in case it gets distributed further, but Phil Bloom, Angelo Sta Catalina, and Jonathan Dietch were present and are more than willing to share further thoughts. Incident Deta...

Re: Launch Weather Station
Happy to help Vrezh, I am glad it's appreciated. It may still need some calibration in velocity & direction. We could especially use some comparisons of ramp velocity vs station measured. And ramp apparent direction (straight up, slight cross) vs station direction. So if folks have a chance to c...
Re: Yosemite
I'm still working out my plans. Hoping to go up Thursday afternoon (leaving around noon). Planning to camp if I can, but I haven't been to Yosemite yet, so I'm clueless on campsites. What are the odds of finding a spot if I arrive late thursday? Anyone else heading up Thursday and want to carpool? I...

Count me as one new H4 ready to finally give Yosemite a shot.

I'm definitely interested in going. I'm willing to drive some folks there, but will probably be visiting my brother in Phoenix on the return trip, so I'll probably leave a day early. Since Steve can no longer make it, has anyone taking over the planning lead from him yet? Sounds like there's 6-7 of ...

Re: Your arm
I'm still around, just been busy lately. Plan on starting flights at the beach next weekend to get my arm back into flying shape.
Looking forward to getting back in the air.

Thanks for the kind words Malury. It's not really hurting anymore, just a major inconvenience. It's kind of funny, because overall it looks like a pretty low speed collision, so it seems strange that my arm ended up as busted as it is. At the same time I'm grateful it didn't turn out worse - which i...

Sorry I'm just now getting around to replying to this thread. Typing is still a bit of a chore. Thanks everyone for the tips. I can't provide a final cause any better than most of the attempts here, but I hope I can provide a little insight into what I was thinking during the landing. My first probl...

Ouch OP, that does look bad. Hope you get well quickly too. Maybe we can do our rehab flights together. Can you send me the video Sebastian? I don't think I'd have a problem worth it being posted for others to learn from, but I'd like to see how dumb it makes me look first ;). Also, I added what i c...

Mike Ivey's Arm
Not to be outdone by OP, i collided with the windsock pipe on landing sunday. Result was a pretty nasty fracture of right humerus. Had surgery to put in a rod on Monday morning, and and as of Monday night I'm still at Holy Cross. Doing fine, still don't have cast, but expecting to get discharged Tue...

Steve, (assuming we go to Funston) do we need tents for camping too, or is this just a 'couch camping' type of situation? Also, I've got an inflatable mattress I can bring. Can anyone confirm if we will be able to pick up a dive knife to fly with temporarily while we are there? I have a hook knife, ...
