Will Wing T2C 144 $2,400

Glider donated to our club by Don Banas. He bought this glider new in 2012, flew it for 4 years and then put into indoor storage since then. This glider looks great in every way, hardly a mark on it and, it has ALL CARBON OPTIONS. These include the basetube, outboard leading edges, sprogs, leading e...

12-inch Glider Storage Tube and Cap - $150

One of these donated glider storage tubes (including one glued on end cap) are for sale. This pair of tubes were recovered from a shed where they have been stored for many years without exposure to sunlight. So, other than a few marks and discolorations here and there, are in very good condition. PR...

Re: A question about Towers

The May Canyon (front side) road has been closed to cars for many years, and as you said, it isn't in very good shape, especially from the 2200 saddle to camp 9. The road from the Bear Divide Fire Station (back side) is called the Santa Clarita Truck Trail. There is a gate a few hundred yards up tha...

Re: A question about Towers

The combo of the towers gate launch is the same one listed on our website (same as Kagel) and the same type of lock. Yes the gate is accessed from the Bear Divide road. I don't understand the question "front or back". From the Bear Divide road, you make a left turn on a dirt road (about a ...

Re: Katherine Yardley's gift

More exactly, SHGA has received $24,650 from Katherine's Estate. Our club has more than $54,000 in the bank so I can assure everyone that Katherine's donation need not be used for any routine expenses. We are currently investigating a separate account for this money, one that will not be part of tho...

Emergency First Aid Oxygen

We have a new emergency first aid kit located in the wood cabinet that faces the tractor. This new kit contains an Oxygen tank, Oxygen masks (2) and also 2 nasal cannulas. We purchased this kit after one of our member had a heart attack and was in respiratory distress while waiting for the paramedic...

Re: Saturday's incident

Yes those who helped out did a good job of getting help fast and keeping Vrezh stable until professional help arrived. However he would have been in better shape when they arrived if we had medical oxygen (or any oxygen) to give him. We don't have any on site but we will very soon. We now have a pro...

2020 Summary

2020 was a tough year for obvious reasons. However, our club continued to operate safely by adopting a few safety measures. The most important one ensures the safety of drivers and passengers on the way to launch. Everyone is required to wear a mask that covers both nose and mouth. Additionally, the...

Toyota Hide a Key Set Found in Parking Lot

Yesterday I found this hide a key pouch laying in the parking lot. It had apparently been placed under a car using peel and stick Velcro. However the heat caused the sticky stuff to let loose and the key pouch fell off. If they are yours, give Rob Burgis a call.

For the record, this was a TEAM effort. I had plenty of help from a lot of others! I just wanted to hi-light what our board of directors ( and non board members) have accomplished this year. We work to make this a better place for all.

Year End 2019

So I had this speech I was going to make during the Christmas party, but the microphone was missing a cable and people seemed to be having too good a time with partying; so I decided just to put it in writing instead. A lot has been accomplished this year. We did have several unfortunate accidents t...
