Re: Land Next to LZ is For Sale

Also the land is zoned for equine keeping with the general plan being open space so building anything here is going to be tough.

Photo too big to attach, so here's the link.

Re: Land Next to LZ is For Sale

Some relevant info - this is in a flood plain (zone AO) so building anything here is not going to be easy. See attached photo.

When I showed up to the beach to learn how to hang glide, I was expecting more adrenaline and less theory. Well, I quickly realized that Greg wasn't going to allow me to get sidetracked by adrenaline. My ego flared up a lot in the beginning. "How can this sport be such a freakin' drag?" w...

So what you're saying is that if SMO does not reverse when it's blowing down then aircraft are taking off and landing downwind? I always thought that was an aircraft no-no.

Interesting airport approaches at SMO LAX

I can see planes land and take off at both from my office window. SMO is business as usual but LAX is in reverse (landing approach over the ocean, take off over the city). Strange given their proximity, no?

This happened to me once. One of my IP addresses got caught up in the list of SHGA spam IP addresses. Easily fixed.

Is there anything we can do so that the wifi supports wifi calling? This usually works by default unless it's blocked or the wifi is too slow. T-mobile has terrible coverage in the LZ and I think Sprint does also, so this would allow us to make and receive calls. I know I have made SIP (session ini...

Windfinder App

Has anyone used the Windfinder app for Android or iPhones? I find it's a pretty useful app for quickly checking the wind direction, wind speed and a bunch of other parameters with a 10 day forecast. You can download it at http://www.windfinder.com/apps and at the bottom is the link to the free versi...

Packs for the homeless

Given the expected El Nino rains and cold and miserable weather, my lovely wife has decided to make packs for the homeless. These contain a bunch of stuff including gloves, beanies, toilet paper, granola bars, water, heat packs, wet wipes, rain ponchos, socks etc. She's going to make them tomorrow a...

1 & 2. I can fly into Alamosa airport via Denver which is an hour away from Villa Grove and tickets aren't too bad. I would just need glider transport from Sylmar (which I'll pay for). I need to see if you have to be there on day 1 for a site briefing or can show up midweek. Looks like this is ...
