Re: July 4

I loved your synopsis Greg! You forgot to add my horrifying launch but awesome glass off flight at Black Cap :D July 4th Wish i had been there for Sweetwater! What an amazing find! Also left out your other flight from Sugar to get half way home on your first try. Glass offs were nice there at Black...

Re: July 4 epilogue -- more than you want to know

It was an interesting and fun trip. Wed. July 1: Greg A., Steve M and wife Pat, Sujata, Arthur and Lisa all head north and rendezvous in Bishop for a possible late flight at Flynn's. It's blowing hard south though and on launch we decide that 25 cross from the south will not be fun and scratch the i...

Re: July 4

I'm in. I have room for Tony's glider and others, for that matter. I've been looking into camping sites and wrote to the Lakeview fairgrounds for some info. Here is the reply: Yes it's open...and I don't think you'll have a problem with a non hookup space. Dry camping is $5 night and our restrooms/s...

So were the conditions as expected, better or worse? Probably not better or Steve would be talking about it.

Re: Corona flying

I guess I'd say the same. Won't be hiking up, I don't think, but if I could get my stepson here to drive me one of these days I would fly. A friend is a nurse at the VA and is positive and sick, but they make her come in to work anyway as long as she can. Hospitals seem to be a last resort at this p...

Good actually. A sled ride for you counts as news. 13+ minutes for me. It was worth coming out just to watch Dennis with his PG outlast Joe G.

Did anyone make it to this? Obviously, I didn't. Any word on how it went or what is new here?

The TFR region has been reduced and now allows launches from Kagel. The eastern edge now includes the 1500. A map is available here:

Yeah, we got the bad news from Andrea. Don't act like you committed a crime, shit happens ...on a glider, on the water or on a motorcycle. Come on out once you are mobile and we all wish you the best luck with your surgery.

Re: Flyng the Owens in October

I think I would be in for the first weekend of October and maybe the third as a second choice but it looks like Jim D cannot make that one. Also, I don't think it is necessary to have oxygen to fly there, especially if you are not familiar with the place because you'll have enough to worry about. It...

Re: Yosemite

So if it still looks like we can fly next year, I'm going to give a shot at getting the group campsite there for a weekend in July. Maybe the weekend of 18-19 near the new moon. The first day (and only day, actually) to do that is March 15. I think if people could rely on having a campsite no matter...

Re: Yosemite

Yeah, I thought the trip went great. Perfect weather and no fires. For myself, I enjoyed getting a few extra days up there to relax, hike a little and bicycle around the Valley. We had less trouble than expected getting campsites, probably due to the lack of water there. Made it quieter too with few...
