Pat and I are headed to Mingus for their annual Fly-In. Should be fun. The camp site is very nice, at 7,800 ft, so could be cold at night. Launch is steps away. Hat Creek Rim is an awesome place to fly and camp! From the LZ it's less than 15 minutes up to launch. Flights are typically between one and two hours. Glass off site, with no surprises. This is a good "step up" glider for anyone flying a Falcon, for not a lot of money. JD does a great job of reviewing it, both on the ground and in the air. Should make someone very happy!

Very sad news. Both pilots were "experienced". P4 and P3. Lesson emphasized. Keep your head on a swivel, ESPECIALLY when ridge soaring with multiple pilots, but always, always, always assume somebody is looking in the wrong direction and coming to take you out.

I got a chance to launch this ramp once. Me and OP set up. The wind was weak, but we could not resist giving it a go. We both took quick little Dockweiler style flights to the sand. Ah well. C'est la vie.
