I like Janyce's post, looking for alternatives to serve the same purpose. I understand that there are strong feelings on this topic. But please state your opinions and leave the emotions and personalities out of it. We will be voting to either proceed with Joe's plan or go a different direction duri...

I agree that Sergey's artistic pieces are a great addition to our property. They make it even more unique that it already was.

Thank you Sergey!

And, just for the record, I am not taking sides here. I have known Barton Davidson for many years and have nothing but respect for him. He is a stand-up guy who I am proud to know. We differ a bit here and there as we do on this subject. He is not the only person who feels as he does and I respect h...

Actually our friend is a current SHGA member. But that wouldn't really matter.

The fire trashed San Tiago Estates but left our LZ unscathed other than burning the backside of the overshoot hill. We did sustain a bit of wind damage but nothing too major. A tree is down on one of our fences.

5S T-Shirts Available for those 65 years and older

Our club provides free 5s (Sylmar Senior Senile Soaring Society) t-shirts for those pilots 65 and older. I have contacted those who I know are over this age and they will be receiving these shirts soon. If you are 65 or older and do not have one of these shirts (and haven't heard from me asking your...

Amazon Smile

Do you use Amazon to order products? Did you know that 0.5% of your purchases could go to SHGA and it costs you nothing more? If you order your products through Amazon Smile and designate our club (use full name) as the charity than that is exactly what happens. So far, the few people that have been...

Aircraft avoidance at the West Towers

It's never fun to spot a large aircraft coming straight at you, even when you spot it from very far off. That happened to me yesterday, shortly after 4 pm at West Towers. I got to West Towers at about 4500'. I found no immediate lift and was about to make a wide-searching left turn. I knew I was in ...

AND, speaking of storage tubes, we will be raffling off 2 unused tube storage spaces at the Dahlsten Cup competition this Saturday. $5 donation will get you one change for a free (vacant) tube of your choice for one year. You can buy as many chances as you like. Winners cannot use the win to pay for...

Burgis after fly party MOVED TO JULY 1st

Sorry for the date movement. It's been 3 years since I had my annual after fly summer party. Come out after flying and see our very own (mostly) hang glider band, "Phill in the Blank" play some tunes. Bring some booze or snacks if you like but most stuff will already be here. The NEW house...
