I know she tried to open a legal whorehouse in NV but was denied the permits as she hadn't been able to prove permanent residency. Maybe she opted for the more appropriate "touch and go" business model? Quick in and out?

I could go on...

"Obtaining and flying with a radio is also a good idea." In reference to Rob's comment about having a radio: IF you get/have a radio AND you plan on BROADCASTING on it, you MUST have a HAM license. It just isn't that hard to get your HAM license--after all, I have one! Having the visual a...

Another great airshow at a small airport is the Camarillo Air Show . That's the following weekend, August 21-22. There are always really cool vintage WWII planes that fly in the show and it looks like the aerobatic helicopter pilot I saw a couple of years ago is back. There are also several of the p...

Here's a scene from Toy Story 3. Seems Pixar has developed their own single-surface topless glider. It has some unusual landing characteristics (sorry Jonsey) AND folds up like a cheap lawn chair too.

Don't get me wrong. I support the Club's question about whether or not the make the purchase. I just wanted to know how much the investment was. We have another very expensive project in the works and I wanted to know how this may or may not affect that as well--and what financial position these dec...

I wondered that too. For a pee-wee like me, launching in a hole is most uncomfortable. I'd be happy to shovel some dirt if that's what it takes. Otherwise, I guess I'll need those 5" hooker heels and a new launch technique to help out.

Don't make me go there. : (

Writer seeks stories about flying with condors.

Writer Ruth H. Maxwell has been writing articles about hang gliding (with Rome's help) and is interested in doing an article about flying with the California condors. In a communication to the board, Ruth says, "You've all been so helpful. Thank you so much. I'm having fun finding ways to put h...

Back in the day, the national publication used to publish each report as written and submitted, not in summary form is as done today.

Apparently they thought it useful to do so at the time.

Bob died just before I had my first solo flight from Kagel. I trained on one of the hills in Simi. There is a happy face cut into the weeds of a hillside just as you drop over the hill. The last time I saw Bob was when he was flying over the happy face. I think of him every time I see that face. It'...

A great video of Osceola (the hang gliding eagle)

Years ago I remember reading about Osceola in Hang Gliding magazine. Here's a very cool video documenting Osceola's flying adventures.

Here's a link to Osceola's whole story:

Enjoy!
