Re: Yosemite
So maybe we should plan for August? We usually avoided it then because we wanted more water in the river but that should be OK this year. Sounds like it is more likely to be a sure thing. I've already had one trip to Yosemite cancelled this year due to a closed campground so I would prefer to bet on...

Dig it!! Thanks, Rob. Man, we're getting so civilized!
Yosemite
It looks like Barton dropped out on monitoring Yosemite on July 20, but there is a new monitor to replace him. I had signed up then for that date, but in the meantime, George Stebbins came in to monitor on the following weekend on the 27th. To make things more complicated, Rob B. picked the 27th for...

I think this is a worthwhile discussion but I'd say it's under the wrong thread and probably the wrong forum category.

More discussion would be nice
Since this whole topic has been dead for so long (and work is slow), I'm posting some very mundane information for the hell of it. I think it would be good if people would post more routine reports here, if only to let people know how conditions have been. Evidently everyone is waiting until they br...

I'm sure everyone has gotten that email from USHPA regarding the possible threat to King Mtn. as a flying site. I hope everyone who has flown there or hopes to, takes a moment to comment here: https://usfs.maps.arcgis.com/apps/MinimalGallery/index.html?appid=cb5e8f103e4c408ba1990522a0b9f6fb#query=wi...

Red Cross training
Cyndia asked me to relay this to the forum: Hi all, I have tentatively scheduled February 9 for the Red Cross Training. We need a minimum of 8 people to sign up. I need to confirm with the trainer how many people will be there. We are dividing the cost of the class over the participants so I won't k...

Marina Beach
Pretty hard up for a news story. Looks like there won't be a launch ramp at Marina for awhile, the local club got into mild trouble for cleaning up the beach.

So that's why you launched so early.chadness wrote:If a measure of success, the 2018 had 29 gliders simultaneously on launch up from 23 gliders in 2017.

OK, I'll 'fess up. After a glorious flight along the Sierras (as usual), I worked my way down the valley for awhile on light lift before deciding on this nice looking field I'd driven by and admired for years. Yes, it was green and being watered but it didn't look like any real crop was growing ther...
