Well Olin, sadly, the other pilot does want to keep my old vario. So I guess you will have to keep searching. Good Luck.

Hi Olin, I have a used Flytec 4010 (or is it a 4030? I forget) for sale. It is a reliable but simple vario. (No GPS or wind info. Doesn't record flights) It does beep in lift and times your flights too. It served me well for 4 years. It is on consignment to another pilot right now. I will have to pr...

WOW! This is getting spooky . We had the exact same car trouble as Chad! Our breakdown happened at the Carl's Jr. in Salinas, Ca. I had to yank out the starter and take a taxi to autozone. Got there just at closing, taxi back to Carl's and install it before they turn the parking lot lights out. Done...

Due to the underwhelming response by pilots, lack of a driver and iffy weather, this excursion is canceled. We'll do it another time.

Blackhawk on Labor Day!!

How many of you would like to go fly XC at Blackhawk on Labor Day? I for one. I am willing to take my vehicle up but I don't have a driver as of Friday night. Perhaps Erwin or Adam's brother. I'll ask Erwin by email tonight. Right now the plan is to meet at Sylmar at 8 AM. I am open to suggestions o...

I am "IN" for a Saturday flight at Garlock on my trusty Sport 2. (my only glider)

Also, if the Greblos are going to Blackhawk, count me "IN"! That's a great site for XC. We can use my truck at both locations but I don't have a driver.

Janyce said "eric, bring your S2! that's what i'm bringing, as it's all i've got!" That's my comment as well.

If Richard comes the Sport 2 Squadron will be complete.

I agree with Glenn about having enough authority over the Saturn to command a turn. I believe that is why the control frame is so large on a Saturn (for more authority). Just don't get too used to it because if you are going to fly a Sport 2 it will PIO big time if you hold that much speed and autho...

WOW! That was very low. I had a low return once but not that low. I walked my glider out about 2/3 of the way before I went to the "rickshaw" method. It's a long, hot walk.

WTF Oscar??? Even I don't know what THAT means. But even I know that you guys had made the most out of a good day. Hats off to all the intrepid pilots who tested their abilities and extended their limits. Listen up BJ!

I was flying alongside and nearby. I came out of a turn to see the top of Markus' sail vertical! Pointed straight down. I was startled. He regained control soon and pulled out of it. Good thing too, he was running out of sky.
Glad you are OK friend.

I humbly submit: The Tujunga Tree Topper
Honestly, I don't think this incident warrants a nickname.

The tree however, will always be known as "Jonesy's Tree".

Let's be glad he's OK.

Yeah that sounds like the MO of Dino. He was excluded from our club for not observing our rules. (As Alan noticed)

It reminds me of "when guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns".

Thanks for your kind comment NME but my vote for Pilots of the Day goes to you and Ron for boldly flying off to LZs unknown. When the party over Lukins broke up I lost sight of you eastbound. Phill and Rob went on glide westbound, out front. That's when John and I had to face the headwind. He was hi...

And Oscar, I filmed only your landing. Other unknown persons were noble enough to record everyone's landings.
