Memorial Day Fly-In
This sounds like a great time. I'm in, and if Pat's not working, I bet she'll be there too. I've always wanted to fly Ojai. Thanks for hosting.

I'm in. I think some of the other pilots are worried they might get their heads cut off by drug lords. And here I thought hang glider pilots were supposed to have some guts. Muy hilarioso.
However, I've got to be home by Monday at 3 PM.

Nice landings, Richard. I just picked up a drogue, and I'm looking forward to using it. Perhaps you could share a few words of advice?

Blown Launch Oct 6th
This came in from another pilot who observed the attempted launch: "Sunday was a wild one, as you've heard. This is what I saw from directly behind the pilot as he launched: 1. Wind was light and switching at the main flag. I was reporting to the pilot what was going on behind him from just to ...

Awesome! Congratulations, Joe! If there was a Hang Gliding Hall of Fame, I'd expect to see him in that as well. Think of it...he SURVIVED the '70s and is STILL turning everyday (debatable) people into foot launched pilots!!

Comment on blown launch
Yesterday was an extremely unpredictable day. There was convergence, and the resulting tempest made for quite a challenging day. Aside from the blown launch, we had at least four pilots break downtubes on landing. As our pilot indicates in the account above, winds were switching from blowing up to s...

Blown Launch Oct 6th
We had a pilot experience a blown launch on Sunday, Oct 6th. Little or no injuries were incurred. Pilot had this to say about his launch: "Simply and concisely, I screwed-up. While setting up the glider I felt winds from the south that were weak, but steady. But after going to launch the winds ...

Poll
I can appreciate your opinion, Vrezh. Nonetheless, I think it is important to gather a general, anonymous poll to see what the club is thinking about the new ramp and the launch conditions it presents. The ramp was made steeper, which is better for the blades in no to low wind conditions, but could ...
