Mingus Mtn Fly-In for Labor Day
Pat and I are headed to Mingus for their annual Fly-In. Should be fun. The camp site is very nice, at 7,800 ft, so could be cold at night. Launch is steps away. Bring O2 if you have it, 'cause when it's working, you become a dot in the sky! http://forum.hanggliding.org/viewtopic.php?f=26&p=40797...
Re: Yosemite
Had a great time, Greg. Thanks for showing us the ropes! Till next year!

Re: Kagel pilots make a trip to Hat Creek Rim
Hat Creek Rim is an awesome place to fly and camp! From the LZ it's less than 15 minutes up to launch. Flights are typically between one and two hours. Glass off site, with no surprises. LZ is huge and easy to land in just about any direction. Plenty of other things to do in the area like fishing, h...

Re: For Sale WW Eagle 164 VGC $1,200
This is a good "step up" glider for anyone flying a Falcon, for not a lot of money. JD does a great job of reviewing it, both on the ground and in the air. Should make someone very happy!
Re: Yosemite
I'm cool with August. Spaces out all the little adventures to other places. Like Hurricane for the 4th of July! Any takers?

Pat and I would like to attend on the 20th or the 27th. We're fairly flexible. Just let us know what the group decides to do.

Flying Safari to Monroe, Utah for Memorial Day WE 2019!
In lieu of the usual Owens trip, we've collectively decided to head out to Monroe, Utah to fly, camp, soak in the natural hot springs, and in general, relax and have fun. There are several launches in Monroe. The highest is at 11,200. The LZ is at around 5K and is an easy glide, even on a Falcon. If...

Flying Safari to Monroe, Utah for Memorial Day WE 2019!
I usually post hang gliding trips under the "Events" category, but given the time line, this is the one most people read first. We're headed to Monroe, Utah to fly, camp, soak in the natural hot springs, and in general, relax and have fun. There are several launches in Monroe. The highest ...

Wow! The grading gremlins have been at it again! Now that the Pacoima Wash LZ is safer, perhaps it's time to run another land-out clinic? I'd like to give it a try on my U2!

Memorial Day WE in the Owens!
We're going back for more! Once again the Beast that lives above 10K beckons and mocks us with laughter and disdain. I'm headed back to the Owens this Memorial Day WE to answer the challenge, and I invite you to join me for some true High Adventure! All H-4s and high hour H-3s are encouraged to join...

Re: Two Dead at Torrey - Paragliding Collision (March 9, 2019)
Very sad news. Both pilots were "experienced". P4 and P3. Lesson emphasized. Keep your head on a swivel, ESPECIALLY when ridge soaring with multiple pilots, but always, always, always assume somebody is looking in the wrong direction and coming to take you out.

Re: Marina Beach
I got a chance to launch this ramp once. Me and OP set up. The wind was weak, but we could not resist giving it a go. We both took quick little Dockweiler style flights to the sand. Ah well. C'est la vie.
