As realistic as a few hours of futzing with JavaScript can accomplish, anyway. (Tested on Safari 8.0.6 on a Mac only, I have no idea if it runs correctly anywhere else):

Requires a thing called "quiktime" I don't even know what that means.

On Firefox 38.0.5 on W-8.1 it makes a wind noise but nothing else functions.

Try it again now. The script uses Webkit Audio to produce the variometer tones, but apparently some web browser don't include Webkit audio support and that was making the script abort. I modified it so that if the browser doesn't support Webkit Audio the script will still run (but you won't hear any variometer sounds, alas).

Dan Burton in 2001 came up with a very playable hang gliding simulator that's still online although I don't recommend playing that way. You can download the code and compile it locally. That's because the javascript is old and insecure. You'd have to set your browser to accept very insecure java (bad idea). However, locally it still works. There is an updated (Rev 3) version that he never finished waiting for the right person with the right amount of patience to finish. There are some websites that claim to have the 3.01 running, but it looks like the old 2.0 code. The source code is available here: http://web.archive.org/web/200508140831 ... /hg/hg.htm Feel free to hack through it.

Unfortunately, Dan's demons got the best of him and he committed suicide in 2005.

Someone ported FlightClub to android. It's free. Easily the best cell phone game, besides chess, I've found.

Before I approached Windsports Van Nuys Sept 99 I spent many hours on:
Chuck Yeager's Flight Simulator

Chuck Yeager's combat simulator

Jet Fighter 4 "San Francisco Map"

Only after I mastered those simulators did I move on to Dockweiler Beach to buy and fly the real "Wing".

Clearly you've forgotten the first rule of flight club...
