Fox Field open house & aircraft display (Antelope Valley)

Post by stebbins »

SFTE/AIAA members:

We are having an Open House, Pancake Breakfast, and Aircraft Static Display at the William J Fox Airport (KWJF) in Lancaster this Saturday, Sept 10. The Pancake Breakfast is from 8-10, and the Open House/Display from 8 to 2. This is a low-key Open House (as opposed to the big airshow in March) intended to show off the airport to the local community.

For any of you who are pilots and want to fly in for the Breakfast and put your aircraft on the static display line, you are welcome. Just tell the tower you want to park on the display line and try to arrive before 9AM (preferably by 8AM). The Pancake Breakfast is delicious and only costs $5. Follow the signs to the Barnes hangar. For more info about flying in, contact Bob Stambovsky, the Airfair Chairman, at stambo@earthlink.net.

One of our goals is to have aircraft and pilots on display for local youth to see up close and talk to the pilots about flying. I try to use that as a way to inspire them about math and science. So, anyone bring out your kids, have some pancakes, and walk around the display area. We never know how many/what aircraft we will have until the day of the event, but generally there are about 20 to 25 aircraft with a mix of general aviation, homebuilts, and sometimes jets and helos.
Hope to see you there!

There is a flyer with more info, but I cannot seem to post it here. It is a Jpeg file.
