Beryllium Hang Gliders

I was looking at the Condor 330 and how it is said it should only be flown on training hills.
Yet OP once said "If there is no video then it did not happen". So is there any evidence of a Condor 330 breaking at altitude of failing a DHV test.
Hang gliding has been made too safe while paragliding gets away with structurally deficient wings. I am surprised paraglider manufacturers have not been sued out of existence but this is probably because they are manufactured outside of the US outside of the reach of the courts.

Important political update dealing with housing and permitting threats to Southern California flying sites.

A number of political candidates have been or are running on the platform of declaring a Homeless and Housing emergency. If elected, our precious hang gliding launches and landing zones and land in-between will be lost to developers that can skirt current permitting standards.

I started this topic on April 18th, 2016 which was a few months after Ken Andrews became a USHPA Director. I had asked Ken to look into reversing my expulsion, and he wrote to a friend:

"I've told Bob many times that if he would stop attacking Torrey and USHPA, then I would work to get his membership reinstated so that he could fly at USHPA sites again. So far, Bob has refused my offers."

Ken's statement to my friend was false. I did not refuse his efforts. In fact, several pilots witnessed my long discussions with Ken inside the Windsports container at Dockweiler Beach. I very explicitly asked Ken to introduce a USHPA motion to reverse my expulsion. I explicitly asked Ken write up the precise terms of what it means to "stop attacking Torrey and USHPA" so we would all know if I had lived up to them or not. How unreasonable was that?

But I knew that Ken wasn't going to put anything in writing because it would look ridiculous. It would be ridiculous to write down that USHPA members can't be critical of some flight businesses or of USHPA itself. It would be ridiculous to write down that I'd have to shut down the U.S. Hawks or never testify in court to be a USHPA member. It would be ridiculous to write down that I couldn't speak to my own City Council about the problems I'd seen just to be a USHPA member. But that is the reality, and it has been proven over these last six and a half years.

Back in 2007, I didn't set out to be a Regional Director or to speak to the City Council or to testify as an expert witness. I set out to make flying fun and fair at Torrey Pines where pilots were being continually abused. But that simple quest has taken me down the long path to where I can no longer fly at my favorite sites. I still can't fly Sylmar to this day because I dared to speak up. I still can't fly Torrey to this day because I dared to speak up. That's a burden of shame that Ken Andrews will see in the mirror for the rest of his life.

The actual Sylmar stargate is located 600 feet above east trash mountain but it has been classified and militarized by NATO. Chad was recently elected and he can corroborate that he and I were actually killed in a mid air collision more than 5 years ago in that location and yet we are still alive. I had a dream last night and a 5 foot inflatable hang glider with an aluminum interior telescopic frame became available.
Pumping the air out retractwed the telecscopic frame. A simular device was introduced with a pterodactyl frame. I saw an interview with Elon Musk and he said he had no support with his car company because all car companies since 1920 had bankrupted so he decided reinvent all aspects of its manufacture.

Another approach is to take something that already exists and tweak it slightly.
Just take the LittleHawk and set it up, then attach a few 6 foot segments and velcro or zipper on some additional fabric.
Augment the LittleHawk with parts from a Finsterwalder glider. This way you get a fast setup without having to assemble the whole glider from scratch.

Due to cost cutting constraints we are forced to think outside of the box.
I noticed these kites have pitch authority but no roll authority.
By just adding a jump rope from wingtip to wingtip underneth the two feet could allow raising and lowering of the wing tips.
A rigid hula hoop installed the same way would allow the pilot to run like a hamster to either side and control roll.
These wings are also too small with too high of wing loading but using light weigh people could give good results.
Just think Midgits, Jockies, 8 year olds or trained spider monkeys.
Once we get our foot in the door it could take off with more researchers helping out.

I started this topic in April of 2016 with this post:

Ken Andrews is a nice enough guy. He follows in the footsteps of many "nice enough" guys Region 3. I would include Bill Helliwell, Dan DeWeese, and Alan Crouse among them. But when it comes to dealing with USHPA's "insiders", Ken is out of his league (and I don't mean the Falcon League).

The USHPA insiders chew up and use "nice enough guys" like pawns. Here's a current example.

A long time Torrey Pilot wrote to Ken complaining about USHPA's unfair expulsion of Bob Kuczewski (that's me). Here's part of Ken's reply:

"I've told Bob many times that if he would stop attacking Torrey and USHPA, then I would work to get his membership reinstated so that he could fly at USHPA sites again. So far, Bob has refused my offers."

Please write up EXACTLY - and in the form of a contract - the precise terms and conditions that I would be required to abide by for you to work to get my USHPA membership reinstated so that I can fly at what you've called "USHPA sites" again. Please write this in an unambiguous and objective manner such that it would be enforceable in a court of law.

It will be interesting to see Ken's response. If he lists the "purported" reasons for USHPA's expulsion (things like "interfering with instruction" or "endangering tandem pilots on landing"), then they'll be forced to reinstate me because I've never done those things and would agree not to ever do them (as we all should). But if he lists the real reasons (things like "to be a USHPA member, you can't be critical of USHPA" or "to be a USHPA member, you can't speak to your City Council or testify in a court case") then he's going to show what was really behind the expulsion.

Ken's a smart guy, and it will be interesting to see how he handles this one. My guess is that USHPA (and Tim Herr) will urge him to find an excuse to avoid answering altogether. That's my prediction. But like I said, it will be interesting to see what happens.

It's been over 7 years now, and my prediction was correct. Read through this entire topic and see if you can find one place where Ken backed up his statement with an offer of an actual unambiguous agreement. You won't find it because Ken had painted himself into a corner with his statement. He realized (too late) that the conditions of his "offer" would be ridiculous if written in a clear and unambiguous way. So he just dodged it and did nothing.
