Sylmar Hang Gliding Association

yesterday, 5/21/2020 was pretty rough with punchy thermal and/or converging air starting with some climbs reaching 600 fpm behind Big T. Then a couple hours later, mellower stuff up to 400 fpm. Then at almost 5 pm, close to the LZ (out in front of Scooters), I stumbled across one reaching 900 fpm (on the averager with spikes well above 1000 fpm) shooting me up 3000' in 4 min. Very unexpected. I guess that is the thing about the air - ya just never know...
