4th Annual Awhai Ranch Independence Day Fly In
Yes, we are hosting this event again this year. It will be the usual fly, swim, bbq, go see fireworks event. This is a very family oriented event. Non-flyers enjoy sitting poolside and watching landings.
We'd like to start hearing from people so we know how many permits to reserve. We will likely have an earlier pilot meeting time this year due to the unfortunate parade traffic that slows us way down on our way to launch. Hang 2s need clearance from Andy.
Stay tuned for further details.
Look forward to seeing you all here.

We're scheduling a pilot meet time of 9:30 am. This will give us time to load gliders and briefly stop at 2 alternate LZs on our way to launch. Please let us know if you are planning to fly. Vehicles are allowed through the gate to launch with permits only, so we need to be sure that we have enough reserved. Forecast so far is calling for hot weather and sunny skies.
We welcome non-flyers to arrive at their leisure. BBQ will begin about 3 pm. Please bring a snack, side, or bbq item to share.

I intend to fly. I'm not sure if you will need my vehicle as a launch shuttle. I can take a total of three gliders on my jeep. I don't know if Season will be up for the drive. She is not keen on heights and if I remember, the road up to launch is steep and/or near drop offs at some points. So we may need a driver if we take my vehicle.

Vehicle
My vehicle can make the trip up if necessary though Im not sure if my wife will want to go up or not. My car can handle 5 gliders if willing to stack.
