There are several TFRs in the Sierras due to fires. If you plan on going anywhere, it would be a good idea to check the FAA web site for TFRs before leaving, as they have added new ones recently and might do so again.
As of this writing, there is one North of Tehachapi and one between Little Lake and Olancha. Walt's Point (Horseshoe) is outside the TFR, as is the rest of the Owens north of there. However, there is lots of smoke in the area, and depending on the wind direction and speed, it might not be very pleasant there.

Note that there is also a TFR near Santa Barbara, two near Big Sur (but I think not too close to the flying site) and two near Yosemite. It is going to be a tough summer, I think.
