Re: 2020 Summary

No suggestions, but I do want to say, "WOW" and "THANKS" to all who have helped with all these terrific accomplishments!
With gratitude,
Dr. Jeff, who still hopes to fly again...

Remembering Greg

So sad to hear this but glad that he passed so peacefully. Greg was a great guy. He spent a lot of time with me on the training hill on various visits over the past few years while I was working on improving my landings, and he was always kind and very helpful. A truly class act. I will definitely m...

Thanks

Thanks for the report, Kris. All of us need to be reminded because I bet all of us have done the same thing more than once. Hope you heal fully and fast!

Amazing landing/parking job

This 79-year-old pilot of a small plane just had the most fortunate day of his life....and he won't even get a ticket for double-parking because he is in the lines! http://www.wthr.com/article/video-small ... arking-lot

wheels for round basetube and 17' 8" glider tube

These 6" wheels are in great shape. One of the Allen wrench screws is missing on one wheel, but the single screw holds the wheel securely just like the two screws on the other wheel. $75. Here's a pic. http://purepiano.com/directions/wooshwheels.jpg This 17' 8" tube has served me well but ...

I had a great visit with Ron today during his lunch hour. He looks great. He has a solid 30% grip strength in his right hand (which wasn't even moving before Philadelphia). He laughed at my jokes (not sure that is a sign of progress though!). His speech is still somewhat confused, so he repeats some...

Ron progressing

Guess who I spoke to yesterday? :) Ron said, "Hey buddy" when Denise handed him the phone and said it was Dr. Jeff. He tires easily, so that was the extent of it, but it was still great to hear his voice! He's about to get his G-tube removed so that he will get all nutrition by eating norm...

Saw Ron today

I spent time with Ron and got to know Denise today. He is pretty much the same way Rob described him from his visit. Awake and active but not much real recognition or awareness. Still, I simply spoke to him as though he could understand me, even though he likely can't yet. It can't hurt and it certa...

Great news! Thanks Phil! Hopefully, some of us can get out to see him more than once over the next weeks and possibly months. YES, interaction and stimulation will help.

Phil, if it helps his wife, let her know that I had a friend who was thrown from a car and in a coma for forty days. That was in 1997, and my buddy is doing great and fully OK. Healing really can happen. I am not trying to make light of this very serious situation, but I just want her to know that t...

So sorry to hear!

Thanks for keeping us up to date on Ron. This is deeply sad news. I pray that he can not only run this "marathon" but also truly WIN it.

Defiant Bear does MC Hammer

When I'm not flying (which sadly is a lot of the time), I have a multitude of other interests. One interest involves videoing the wildlife in our backyard, which often includes bears. This video is of a bear that was trying to pull down my bird feeder. When I yelled at it, he slapped out a defiant t...
