This is a quote from initial discussions. Posted: Mon Apr 09, 2007 9:42 pm Post subject: 1. Circumstances (permit, zoning and such) are not favorable for ambitious projects. We can vote for the most ambitious design, no harm is done. But chances of getting it approved are next to none. Let’s face ...

Our friends doing good in Oregon comps
So far 3 tasks are flown. Rob is doing great (keep in mind, it's his first comp), and so are others. I wonder, if Chris Smith's foot injury has something to do with overalls. Best day of Kagel this year(so far)
May 8, 2007. Sources were unison about high altitudes and convergence potential. I launched first and soon was shivering from cold near 9K. Phil, Ron, Seabas and Chipy had ganged up and had a chase standing by. When it was time to move on at 11K+, they drifted back with thermals and were getting eve...

Mount Wilson and beyond
We took advantage of yesterdays (April 26) good conditions and flew to Wilson again. Me, Greblo, Seebass, Chipy and Winer. I launched first and sunk to the bottom. A low save from 2400 saved me from the disgraceful landing and loosing the day. Soon after they were all near 7000 at Kagel and the race...

My vote goes for Option A. I’d like to make some suggestions though. Get rid of an elevated circle on the right, make all flooring level. Also eliminate the pole from the center of it. Concrete or other flooring, other than wood is preferable. The roof, I think, is better to make slanted only to o...

The answer is; you shouldn't get into that situation. At least at this stage of your HG carrier. In fact, you shouldn't even worry about this sort of things. Your objective should be expanding your radius within the limits of your abilities. I see it every now and then, Jamie, when the desire overri...

My first flight to Mt Wilson and back
So we all had our moments. That first solo, first this and first that… So you can understand me. Because I had my first flight to Mount Wilson and back. In a true Dave Cutter style. Dave is my hero, he made it to Wilson and back many times. I attempted to follow him a few times before, but never g...

Cool! I like our web site, and I am very much active in the forum. One thing I would like to be improved is that we can’t post photos and videos in the forum directly from our computers. Every other forum has this feature; they have means of uploading video too. In order to post photos we have to ...

Attention hikers
Today (February 6) we spotted 2 large mountain lions on the trail to Kagel. They were near 3-rd and 4-th bowl, on the trail, possibly a couple, about the size of a large German Shepherd, brown backs and light, almost white bottoms, large paws, long tails. Very beautiful animals, but I wouldn’t lik...
