Thanks J, I understand, launching from the back was a non issue. We don't use that ramp much, mostly "off season", like now. Years ago I did the same thing, just to fly down, instead of breaking down, only to realize, that the bushes grew taller than I'd like them to be. That was not a comfortable l...

Wednesday report

Some high stratus in the morning almost discouraged me from going, but thanks to Jonathan, we decided to go and humbly take even a sledder if that's what it comes down to, because the next few days look unflyable again... Darryl was in the LZ, so he joyned us too. On the top it still felt kinda stag...

Friday report

It definitely looked strong even from 118, approaching Sylmar. Nobody showed up in the LZ, only Fred was already gone up with tandems, and I think I saw Darril in the air shortly after Fred. Powerful clouds+strong lift+strong wind=strong conditions. So I ballasted up and took off to have the whole p...

Thursday Report

12:30 the windsports truck was gone already with Big Mike, Big Phil, Big Greblo and couple of students. What? Look, I can't call one of them "Big" and discriminate the other two. Plus, I have tremendous respect for those guys. So, anyway, the day wasn't looking all that flyable, thick marine layer u...

Make a convincing argument for your case ??? Dude, it's your map, do whatever pleases you. I could care less, I don't need a map. But if you are up to it, and smart enough to ask for input, don't be so uptight about it. Read carefully, understand, think, analyze. Then respond, if you need to. P.S. ...

The map was updated this evening with better class c and class e markings. Take a look OP and see if it's good enough. I think it is. Print will be 43" x 71" or so. I've already marked the route to launch (both). I felt like there is no reason to mark the road all the way to launch because you can'...

Very nice! How big is it in print, is this the one you brought for Dahlsten cup? A few suggestions, if I may. Besides the obvious purpose, you've made the map more informative by adding all that club/flight park/ sport specific information to it. So I am going to suggest more pointers, that visitors...

Beautiful day

It was, indeed. Tuesday, Oct 23. Most models were in agreement, it was going to be good. Jonathan and I were about to drive up, when Phil showed up. Didn't take too long to twist his arm, I was about to open my mouth to ask him, when he said why not. So we quickly loaded him up and left. Fred was re...

Friday, the 19-th

I asked for this forum topic to be created for casual flight reports, so I'll be the first one to report casually. (The weather is changing fast, Saturday is going to be a completely different story, so this is going to be irrelevant). Nevertheless....today the wind switched to upslope around noon, ...

New topic suggestion

Couple of weeks ago I posted this where it belongs-Support and Help Desk. We have a thread in this forum, called "Amazing Flights". Amazing flights is fine. But it is what it is. There is a need for a more casual place to tell about casual flights. I'd suggest "Pilots Reports", like Crestline Forum ...

Thanks Glenn,

I don't mean to hijack J's story, so let's just say it was a good flying day.

Jay, congratulations on your return, glad you are making good progress.

Fly safe,

Vrezh.

Lost pitot tube with rubber base

Sunday, September 23, on landing, the pitot tube came off, this time with it's base, a rubber bushing at the top of the Fytec 6030, where the tube is inserted. The tube is not important, I need the base part. It should be somewhere between spot landing circles and the breakdown area in the "Bario." ...

Very nice job, guys, muzletove(sp?) to everyone!

Jonathan, you flew past Cook, then turned around. What's the story, weren't you high enough to make it to AJX? Why fly back?

Index topic suggestion

We have a thread in this forum, called "Amazing Flights". Amazing flights is fine. But it is what it is. There is a need for a more casual place to tell about casual flights. I'd suggest "Pilots Reports", like Crestline Forum has it. It's a natural question-"did anyone fly, how was it?" So pilots, w...
