That is a horrible story. Maybe you should fly a Falcon for a while?

A single-surface is lot less drama.

Greblo told me once, that's the main reason he flies a SS.

Once again, Joe dumps several skip loads of foresight and common sense onto the heads of any skeptics.

It is virtually impossible to disagree with him. Dammit.

Bob may be a bit overzealous, and his time and energy may be better used establishing new sites, but he has legitimate concerns, and is doing what he was voted into office to do, so no one should be surprised.

I love Zeppelins. I am waiting for the Berlin to Buenos Aires line, with a full restaurant, lounge, (aluminum!) piano bar and turndown service: http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f209/JesseBruceBenson/800px-HindenburgLZ129zeppelin1936-0.jpg http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f209/JesseBruceBenson/702p...

Because the name "Falcon" has more cachet, and is sexier, than "Pelican". Or "Buzzard". Or "Albatross". For example. And I really like Pelicans. And Buzzards. When you think about it, the Albatross is really the bird you want to emulate. He is the perfect soar...

That figure is not surprising. I am guessing that is without any padding. It could even go higher as problems are encountered.

I would guess you could get it to around 60,000 with "value engineering" but much less than that will require a major design change.
