You got it wrong. I call him Babalucci. The way it started, we used to joke around, Matso Bro calling everyone "bubba", and me-twisting anything he would try to say to me into some fake, italian sounding nonsense :D So once he said something, and of course, there was his signature "bu...

Friday (December 28) Report

This morning the forecasts were more consistent, so there was no doubt, it was going to be a good winter day. About 15 pilots went up in 3 trucks. O, BTW, the setup area is nice and flat (I hadn't seen it after grading). It was sunny, but cold on the top. Around 1:00 we started to launch into a nice...

Just kidding :D My 6030 started doing this a while ago. In flight it would work fine, but after landing it would produce a wacked out "flight analysis". As advised by Steve, I updated the software, keep the memory clean and switched from 2 sec scan rate to 5 sec. That seemingly helped, but...

Tuesday

3 trucks went up, 10+(happy) pilots. Fred with his "superwomen"/"wonder women" tandem. Seriously, she came in a "wonder women" costume and flew like that. I flew over, when they took off, and that was quite a scene- her cape in the airflow... We started to launch around...

Thanks J, I understand, launching from the back was a non issue. We don't use that ramp much, mostly "off season", like now. Years ago I did the same thing, just to fly down, instead of breaking down, only to realize, that the bushes grew taller than I'd like them to be. That was not a com...

Wednesday report

Some high stratus in the morning almost discouraged me from going, but thanks to Jonathan, we decided to go and humbly take even a sledder if that's what it comes down to, because the next few days look unflyable again... Darryl was in the LZ, so he joyned us too. On the top it still felt kinda stag...

Friday report

It definitely looked strong even from 118, approaching Sylmar. Nobody showed up in the LZ, only Fred was already gone up with tandems, and I think I saw Darril in the air shortly after Fred. Powerful clouds+strong lift+strong wind=strong conditions. So I ballasted up and took off to have the whole p...

Thursday Report

12:30 the windsports truck was gone already with Big Mike, Big Phil, Big Greblo and couple of students. What? Look, I can't call one of them "Big" and discriminate the other two. Plus, I have tremendous respect for those guys. So, anyway, the day wasn't looking all that flyable, thick mari...

Make a convincing argument for your case ??? Dude, it's your map, do whatever pleases you. I could care less, I don't need a map. But if you are up to it, and smart enough to ask for input, don't be so uptight about it. Read carefully, understand, think, analyze. Then respond, if you need to. P.S. ...

The map was updated this evening with better class c and class e markings. Take a look OP and see if it's good enough. I think it is. Print will be 43" x 71" or so. I've already marked the route to launch (both). I felt like there is no reason to mark the road all the way to launch becaus...

Very nice! How big is it in print, is this the one you brought for Dahlsten cup? A few suggestions, if I may. Besides the obvious purpose, you've made the map more informative by adding all that club/flight park/ sport specific information to it. So I am going to suggest more pointers, that visitors...

Beautiful day

It was, indeed. Tuesday, Oct 23. Most models were in agreement, it was going to be good. Jonathan and I were about to drive up, when Phil showed up. Didn't take too long to twist his arm, I was about to open my mouth to ask him, when he said why not. So we quickly loaded him up and left. Fred was re...
