So as I read the discussion here it seems agreed that we should be landing faster just for the added margin with little additional risk = net less accidents. I'm sold. Thanks guys. It is unfortunate if this advice is all that was needed to prevent losing two great pilots and men. Damn!

Since I have been the one providing and maintaining the triangular streamers in the LZ, Are there any suggestions about improvements to them on my next round of rebuild? Location, more of 'em, etc.? For just this reason I tend to dive pretty fast on final all the way until I need to change hand position. What is too fast on approach? If I avoid PIO, are there any other dangers with a very fast approach?
