Is the rule: the more turbulence, the faster one should fly?

I have heard it said that in extreme turbulence one should not fly very fast, as it can over-stress the glider?

Is this true?

Just click edit, delete the text, write in "deleted by user" and re-submit.

That works too.

Gazebo project / Photographs of gazebo area & LZ

Re: Gazebo Project

Does anyone have good, high-res photographs of the gazebo area & LZ from the air?

Best would be looking straight down.

If so please mail to: jessebenson@mac.com

thanks

Volunteer (Human) Resources

To paraphrase Chip, "If you want something done, ask a busy person". Because there has already been talk about it, and because it could be a valuable resource, here is my information. Once there are enough people listed Chip can make a new Sticky or whatever. (Note: This list is imagined a...

These are cool:

as "S.H.G.A."

A smaller plaque with more detail could be next to it....

Could also fill with colored foliage...?

Thanks for posting that Chip. It gives me heart arrhythmia to read the seemingly endless list of projects. Because I am a compulsive person, I have taken the liberty to group the projects under departments, in a way that makes sense to me. Breaking it down makes it seem more manageable. I have group...

Last time I was up there someone had the idea to make a tether-ball type of arrangement:

Old tire filled with concrete as a base and a permanent metal pole attached to it.

They can knock it down but it is easy to set it up again. Unlikely they will cart it away as it would be pretty heavy.

JT is right: Determine a budget (allow for contingencies), have Board give one person the authority to spend it. They vote for a person, not a plan. Said person submits budget-conscious proposal (no approval necessary), makes it happen, (however he/she deems possible), submits actuals/invoices/recei...

I think Chip meant to frame the concrete mold around the uprights, so they (the uprights) could be replaced at a later date. They are not so bad having looked at them. They can wait. The thing about any project is where do you stop? You could make everything new but is this necessary now? Partial so...
