Bad Time To Change Hand Position!

As I decided to change hand position and made the move, I was thinking that this is really not a good time to do this but proceeded anyways!

In general, visitors are good for this sport and we do not want to lock them out.
Ok, did not know.

My Most Fun Flight Yet

Sunday I finally got to enjoy a 1.5 hour flight, my longest not counting Ave S, and got higher than I have so far at 6320 ft vario not gps altitude which shows higher. The scenery was amazing from that altitude, can't wait to get to 10,000.

The cops used to come around occasionally. Does someone know those guys? Could they be asked to visit more often. I think that should be a last resort. I think just blatantly taking pictures, even saying things like "smile and hold still" followed by a few questions will work. That applie...

Re: To All Pilots Without Radio License, Please Get One

....How about making club membership/day-use dependent on radio licensing and it avoids all kinds of potential problems? :!: Mike, There is no USHPA, FAA, state, county, city or any other requirement to have or to use a 2-meter or any other transceiver. Thanks, Jonathan my 2-meter's worth  :r...

To All Pilots Without Radio License, Please Get One

So the radio is going in, and this would be a good time for those who do not have a license to make a test appointment and study. The test is really not all that difficult. If all we make it a habit to identify ourselves with our call sign regularly the ham nazis will eventually go away regardless o...

If USHPA has paid frequencies then why are they letting just anyone use them, $$$? Anyways, regardless of which frequencies we'll wind up using (probably what we use now) the radio project is moving forward and will be implemented in a manner that will make just about everyone happy. :D

Larry does not have the one I need. It's the DIN connector that goes with the helmet wiring.

After research: USHPA has many paid freqs bought from the FCC. We can use them. Ham Nazis are weird awful folks; let's invalidate their claims. With a paid freq their arguments are m00t. A radio locked on their freq in the gazebo is cool. Individuals using the freq is cool, using a free-banded radi...

Doesn't the USHPA have a paid freq? It's 151.625 according to the interwebs. No need for Ham Nazis on a paid frequency. We can all abuse it at all times. No licence needed. Someone matching my description and responding to my name was free banding radios on an industrial scale during the Colorado m...

Re: speakers

I like the idea of having a speaker or two in the rafters of the gazebo. Rather than just having something for emergencies, I think it might often be interesting to spectators and pilots. Over the last two weekends for example, it would have been great to hear pilots racing or getting high and trav...

Drones I say. A lot of us are quite good with rc so why not invest in a state of the art surveillance drone to menacingly patrol the LZ? Erwin can control it from his RV.

I spoke with Erwin more about the radio today and he brought up a very important point. Speaker location and volume control. Apparently in the past we had a radio which drove people crazy because it was more like a PA system. The radio at Andy Jackson is on but you can only hear it when you get clos...

After building such a fine flight park, there is no doubt that we can expect to see more visitors. I like the idea of video surveillance. We can at least start out with the sign as a deterent, and then add the surveillance system when the master electrical plan is made. Meanwhile, who do we call if...
