Jay always looks way cool. Thanks for the analysis, Chip. I like the idea of thinking of it as "flying out of the cart". I was just feeling for when the front wheels on the dolly started lifting and then letting go. Although I didn't consciously feel myself pop-up, i'm sure the sudden lett...

Aerotow Practice in Casa Grande

Don't know if this qualifies as an "Amazing Flight" but Jay, Don and I had a lot of fun brushing up on our aerotow skills this weekend in Casa Grande, AZ. Everyone had good safe flights/landings and no downtube casualties. Here's some photos: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3562/3362321626_...

I thought this one was well done. Nice air to air shots. Maybe we need a tug.

Very cool video Jonathan.

I'm also impressed you were able to capture the masked ninja who came out of the clouds from nowhere, threatened us, and then proceeded to outfly us. I wonder if we'll ever learn their true identity...

I'll be there too. I'm curious to see what olive view and the beehives look like post-fires.

I volunteered to help set up for the xmas party which means I have to be there by 4:30. Think we'll be done by then? I'd like to have time to go home and shower but maybe someone can just hose me down instead.

Sounds like a lot of fun, Ken. I'd dust off my falcon for this. I'm sure Freddy would be up for it too, he loves landing in bushes.

I was thinking the same thing Freddy. I wonder, if he had done this at half the altitude and found himself in a stall recovery headed straight for the ground is there any exit from that? Is it possible to flare going uphill/downwind when in a deep stall like that? Does it depend on which part of the...

My 3g iphone was switching over to edge but showing 5 bars. But then it would suddenly show no service. And then back to 5 bars. Not sure what that means but the times it worked it worked great.

my lucky shovel

Lost my shovel at saturday's work party. Green handle with my name written on it. Last seen in the hang 2/3 LZ. Checked the tool shed to no avail. Maybe it ended up in someone's truck by accident?

Some words about my friend Jeff

Since I'm stuck in New York for a family funeral this weekend, I wanted to share what I would've said at Jeff's memorial tomorrow. If anyone wants to read this there, that would we cool... A nice side benefit of learning to hang glide is it allows for my geek side to shine through. Whether it's list...

Total shock. It's hard to believe the guy who I've shared so many rides to the top of (and bottom of) Kagel with is gone. He really was the nicest guy around. My condolences to his family.

Thanks for the writeup, George. As a first hand witness, it was an extremely sobering event to see. I think first responder training for SHGA members is a great idea. I called 911 and was really clueless about what exactly to tell them. Although it didn't seem to matter as a whole armada of emergenc...
