Better yet we can probably pay you to drive our car back down (usually get $20), and you can get a lot of footage of launches and since you'll be going back down to the LZ (landing zone), you'll be there for all the landing action.

I live in Sylmar too (1/2 block from Hubbard St Elem), so I can help you a bit. Weekends are always best. This weekend is looking good for nice weather and if it pans out then there will be a lot of pilots out there.

I like having ground based video edited with onboard. Maybe you can work with those of us who like mounting cameras on our wings?

I'm just a beginner so my flights would be boring but here is an example of my flights with a camera mounted on my helmet. (SD). I would recommend a wider lens for onboard POV and mounted on the helmet seems pretty interesting as long as the lens is wide enough because a longer lens would look really jerky with the head movements. The really experienced pilots could shoot some really exciting stuff. My little helmet cam can see 170 degrees. I think it's an 8mm lens but I'm not sure.

Good luck with the video thing. I cannot be down there much due to other commitments, but I'm looking for good "moonwalk landing" footage for training purposes. (Ask the local hot-shots, they'll be able to explain what that is.) If you get some, could I have just the last 10 or so seconds of the landings?

If anyone signs up with her, please try and get some of this footage. There are a bunch of pilots away from So. Cal. who don't really understand it and need a video to clarify.

Actually, that's a very decent video; nicely put together.

It's interesting how the sun caused a black spot to appear in the video where it was.
