In preparation for the new flying year some work needs to get done in the LZ and at launch. So that you all have the opportunity to have some fun and forget about taxes, a work party to clean up the border and improve the look and condition of the L/Z is scheduled for Saturday April 14th.

Hungary Joe is also planning to improve the launch and needs a few hands up there too.

So that we have a nice looking place for the upcoming Spring Air event and so that our new Gazebo is happy to be located at the L/Z come out and pitch in!

Want us to tear down the old gazebo while we're at it?

It would be a sure sign of progress.

And it would take 36 minutes.

Joseph is the organizer of this Saturday's work party. Here's the plan:

1. Removal of dead oleanders at the driveway entrance
2. fire brush clearance
3. maintenance of the storage containers, we need to remove the rust
and paint over the decaying area.
4. planning for the border planting
5. general trash cleanup, sprinkler repair, whatever is broken that
needs fixing in the L/Z.

Arrive at 8:30 am
Bring gloves and garden tools, picks, shovels, etc.

Great Job for everyone who turned up for the L/Z clean-up

Thanks to everyone who worked very hard yesterday clearing the dead oleanders, mowing the l/z lawn, weed wacking the L/Z border and clearing plants from the H-2 landing area in the wash.

To mention a few, Richard Shaw ripped out oleander stumps with this truck, Eric Brown cleared the h-2 area, Darrell weed wacked the l/z border, Chip mowed the l/z lawn, and Kate and Katherine trimmed and cleaned up the healthy oleanders.

Next on the agenda is planting which will be done within 3 weeks. We are going to get the largest plants possible to fill in the gaps with the help of Jesse Benson, Kate and Katherine. Within this goal an effort will be made to plant drought tolerant native plants. A simple drip irrigation system will be put in to keep everything healthy.

Great work and thanks for all your help again.
