Some Great Memories of Wayne Yentis
A few years back, Wayne sent me copies of two very cool hang gliding videos that he'd produced. Here is the first installment.

I miss the sound of big Erica's laugh in the LZ. Wayne gave me a DVD copy of that video, and others I watch them every couple of years, I will miss Wayne. those times will be the the good old years to me lots of fun and the beginnings of the love of flying, good friends and just f-ing nonsense.
Enjoy the old timers ask them questions learn from them, they wont be here forever.

Gaza, Laura, Cabbage head, Erica and many others... good memories in that film.
On most weekends the LZ always had someone firing up the grill, and RC's of different kinds flew over head.
I remember most pilots were flying the wing you see Barton walking around with.
Good stuff!
I could see some of the footage went back to 2000.
The video at Slide is a good representation of the sport. Anyone who never flew could easily make sense of what was taking place between glider and thermals, while getting a description on the mind set of the pilots.

Surprisingly, I saw myself in the Slide vid. From 2:47-3:05 i'm waiting in the launch line with my red & orange XC w/winglets - behind the guy at launch. There's also an extended segment at 5:20-5:43 of me just off launch. At 4:19-5:20, Steve Rudy is flying the Exxtacy I would eventually buy from him after destroying my first one in a gust front.
Wayne had a great narrative voice - was he a professional at that?

A class act
Wayne was a class act, with many talents people didn't even realize, especially in music. I will miss him for sure!
