CPR/First Aid April 13th

Post by Busto »

I received a phone call from the director of Lifesaver today.

They have confirmed the 13th of April as the day they will come out to our club and teach CPR and First Aid.

The out of pocket cost is $63.00 for the two combined courses, and another $17.00 for the book.

The travel fee is based on mileage. 25.2 miles = $100.00, which the board has agreed in paying.

There is no written test, but there is a skills test at the end of the day.

The day will consist of two three hour sessions, with a half hour break between.

I will fire-up the grill and cook hamburgers and hotdogs with chips on the side.

The commitment in attending has to be received in the next few days. the reason is so Lifesavers will know if they need to send one or two instructor's.

If we have eight people wanting to take the combined courses, then they will need to send two instructor's.

So it is important that Lifesaver have this information by Monday, the 4th of March.

If stragglers are willing to attend on the day of the class, they can join-in on that day.

The Heartsaver CPR AED course covers adult, child, and infant CPR and use of the AED (Automated External Defibrillator). Included in the course is relief of choking.

Heartsaver First Aid provides first responders with training in basic first aid procedures—including the first aid skills recommended by OSHA. The course covers first aid basics, medical emergencies, injury emergencies, and environmental emergencies.

The Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED course combines all of the information provided in both the CPR AED and First Aid classes into one class.

This course is for non-healthcare professionals.

Thanks, but everything concerning our first aid inventory, and attempt to get more members educated with CPR/First Aid is due to Janyce.

So, thank you Janyce.

Not to be morbid. Only 3% of the people who receive CPR have regular lives. A fraction lives, most have major life long problems.

That's why if someone gets hurt I use the power of prayer. Supernatural shit to fix the biz. Only Zeus has the power to save us.

(Seriously, thanks for doing the clinic. You are all assets to our club.) Thanks!

Go ahead and count me in. There's a slight chance that I could have a schedule conflict, but if that happens I'll just let someone pretend to be me.

Tom, you are THE MAN!

Brother OP, I'm picking up what you're laying down.. The power of prayer. For the reals, man.

All faith and kidding aside, if I have a major biff in the LZ and appear to be having trouble sustaining life under my own steam, I hope you will feel confident enough to lend me a hand, so to speak. Chest compressions, tracheotomy using a Bic pen, the works. Feel free to break a few ribs if you have to. Would'nt be the first time.

I have given the names to Lifesaver.

Payments are not due until the day of the class.

Pulling out from this point is not unthinkable, but it would cause difficulties with Lifesaver.

Six is the mandatory for them to send out an instructor.

Thanks for your interest.
