Pacoima Wash Bikeway

Looks like this is moving forward, albeit slowly. Ultimately they plan to build a bikeway all along the wash. The vision document noted that they met with SHGA in 2009 to address concerns about the interaction between the bikeway and our landing field, how were these resolved?

We let them know what our concerns are and they did act like they would be accounted for. As the plan looks now, I don't think it will be a problem as the trail would be along the east wall of the wash and the bike path along Gridley and on the west side. Since this is getting attention again, an LA Times reporter has asked us our opinions and I think has come out to the wash and talked with Joe.

Remaining questions include where will the funding for this project come from and when would the project start?

Given the financial situation of the city and county this project could stay in the talking stages for quite a while.

Hey guys? The information you received is for the sediment removal from behind Pacoima Dam. There are several proposals for the method and several proposals for a dump location, if excavation and trucking is the selected method. From the meeting we attended, it appeared to me that their favorite plan was to bring the trucks down Little T road and up Hubbard to the ravines around the bench that extend to the Volcano. It's the same thing they did behind Olive View Hospital with the debris basin refuse.

And, in case you haven't heard, the 515 acres from the area in front of the dam up to and including a good part of the launch are now up for sale as a "development opportunity... great views of the canyon and valley." Anyone have a friend with $9M to donate? Putting this into its own thread, too.
