I've been using O2 from welders and look how normal I am.

Ditto. The moisture content is low in aviation oxygen, according to sources,
so it doesn't freeze up inside the small passages and valves in the system at low temps (high altitudes).

But again, who knows, look at Greg, a living myth-buster :D
