Greg seemed so despondent over the dearth of videos so I've uploaded this test I ran yesterday of landable skids.

This is a good thing. Will you make them available for others?

The latest iteration is the best but only fits onto the Wills Wing aluminum speedbar wheel bracket.

Landing today at Sylmar in a strong crosswind and sliding somewhat sideways across the grass. When I get a section of Moyes zoom downtube to use as a mold I will make an adapter for the Moyes carbon speedbar.

I like those. I was Checking out your Skids when I helped you launch. In they landing you slid quite fat but it is smooth surfaces.

Thanks. These aren't tundra wheels but accommodate a reasonable degree of surface texture and can go sideways to a moderate degree as well. Obviously there are times an XC pilot needs to be able to land on his feet without even being able to take more than a small step or it won't end well.
This set of skids would have saved me from three trips to the ER and over a year of lost flying had I developed them by 2012. All the materials have been available since the 1970's. UHMWPE is old news.
