Ojai 5/30/2010

Post by OSCAR »

Special thanks to Andy & Emily for their hospitality & hard work that made this trip possible & memorable. Ojai ,Ca 5/30/2010 a beautiful day with winds out of the S/W @ 8 mph in the LZ & S/W @ 20 mph at launch with convergence lift in the valley some pilots got over 7,000 ft .My maximum altitude was 6,595 with a 2 hour 1min flight .The thermals were averaging 700 Fpm.I was trying to make it to the Topas but I just could not get high enough.Later in the flight I get low and started to sink out so I head for the LZ ,I was having trouble with my Zipper it got jammed but luckily I managed to get it down before I entered the pattern.

That tree almost got a nickname.
Or did it? :o
The video ended to soon to tell.

Good job making it to Andy & Emily's LZ.
Cant wait to go back and do it again.

Yes, we now refer to that landing approach as "plan O".

Well I can see were feeling much better after taking out a shoulder & leading edge , but then again any landing you walk away from is a good landing intentional or otherwise. :P  :D :)We had a great time thanks again for your Hostility and the great hike that you lead . :D
