Dunlap is not that far away and a nice place to fly. Even if not your final destination you could stop by and fly/camp for a night on your way to Yosemite or N. Cal. The launches are good and the Dome LZ is pretty good although you will likely land in a cross-wind with a little but of turbulence from the nearby trees. The road to launch is easy/excellent.
Andrea and I did an evening tandem flight on Fri and I flew solo on Sat with one other pilot named Paul. Surprising there weren't more people there.
