Short videos.

I'm not sure of my overall standing after yesterday's home run. It's a best 4 of 6 comp so I'm going to try and knock out Tuesday's embarrassment. Our team of 5 is the "Epic Spuds"

I haven't seen much of Mallury who is also here but he seems to b having fun.

Hey Jonathan, nice work. Thanks for representing SHGA at the meet. What were your final stats? Did Malury come out of it safely? Saw your videos. Give us the narrative!

Got a voice mail from Malury this morning. He had a great comp, came in 31st overall and had a few 18 milers. He sounded super psyched and said he learned a lot. I'm sure he'll have stories to tell us. Way to represent, Mal!

Thanks for the report Eric. I saw Malury briefly and he proudly showed me that he'd beaten about a half dozen other open class pilots but I had to get going back to SoCal that night.

The 'Epic Spuds' were the winning team and I am proud to say that I was a member and expect to return next year with the same crew. I came in 5th in open class and my score was less than 1% off the 3rd place winner.

I flew 6 consecutive days totaling roughly 358 XC miles and 24 hours of air time. My last flight which tied Dave Gibson, Mike Daily, and Kurt Baynam who placed 1st, 3rd and 2nd respectively, was over 6 hours long. My best 4 of 6 flights averaged 75 miles each. Needless to say, I am extremely happy with the outcome. The event overall was a blast and a half and should not be missed. Now I need to catch up on lost sleep.

Later, Jonathan

Nice photos, Jonathan. I especially like the one where you're near cloud base and the sun is coming through the clouds on to your wingtip.
