Hey Jonathan, nice work. Thanks for representing SHGA at the meet. What were your final stats? Did Malury come out of it safely? Saw your videos. Give us the narrative!

Thanks for the report Eric. I saw Malury briefly and he proudly showed me that he'd beaten about a half dozen other open class pilots but I had to get going back to SoCal that night.ericbrown wrote:Got a voice mail from Malury this morning. The 'Epic Spuds' were the winning team and I am proud to say that I was a member and expect to return next year with the same crew. I came in 5th in open class and my score was less than 1% off the 3rd place winner.
I flew 6 consecutive days totaling roughly 358 XC miles and 24 hours of air time. My last flight which tied Dave Gibson, Mike Daily, and Kurt Baynam who placed 1st, 3rd and 2nd respectively, was over 6 hours long. My best 4 of 6 flights averaged 75 miles each. Needless to say, I am extremely happy with the outcome. The event overall was a blast and a half and should not be missed. Now I need to catch up on lost sleep.
