The Sylmar Sunday Mosh Pit

Post by JD »

What do you get when you have dozens of air-horny pilots and the first potentially decent soarable day late in the year?

This is my first time shooting a GoPro HD in 1080p (r5 mode). The battery lasted 2:05 hrs vs 2:43 hrs in 1280x960 (r4 mode). I recorded the first 1:57 of my flight and missed a few fun and funny bits during the last 20 minutes but caught better detail than in r4 mode. In the future I could always try shooting in one of the other 16:9 aspect modes for a bit more magnification but smaller file size and longer battery life.

One reason I was using the highest res mode was to see how good the frame stills were and they are quite good. Had it been a brighter and sunnier day they'd make decent 1/2-page magazine prints and that was my main reason to test this mode. http://imageevent.com/aero92/20101024

It was like a mosh pit down there and some of the LZ comments were pretty comical.

Special thanks to Ken Andrews for driving me back to launch to get my car!

OK, I finally got youtube to load my view of the mosh pit. This was also the second flight on my new Sport 2 175.
