Here are some good reasons.
1. It's cool to be a legal user as 2M radios can be useful for lots of things other than flying, from disasters and emergency services to skiing and paintball and caravaning on flying trips.
2. Cross country flying pretty much requires the use of 2M radios for safety and efficiency.
3. If you land out from Kagel and can't get reach the l/z by phone or radio, you can use any 2M user to relay information to get picked up.
4.It's required by law if you operate a 2 meter radio and fines can be levied.
These are just a few, so consider the upcoming radio class or use internet study or Red Cross resources to get legal.
Why get a radio license

Radio License
How about REQUIRING a radio license before a pilot can be granted a certain skill rating - such as a H-3 ? This would provide ample time for all new pilots to obtain the LEGALLY REQUIRED license.
