Hi,
I'd like to compete with my Falcon 3, but I've never done a contest before. I noticed that there's a GPS checkin - are there any specifics for a GPS? I have an old GPS that I think should work, otherwise I have my Android phone. Does anyone have a recommended app to use for Android that will work for the contest?

Thanks!
Mike

GPS requirement

I cannot use android devices (or I haven't been able to date). The issue us there is no security ID when the tracklog gets saved.

You'll need a GPS that we can hook up to USB to get the track downloaded into the program.

I have a magellan meridian gps that will save my track, and I've found a program that can convert my track file into other formats:

http://www.gpsbabel.org/index.html

What format would you need for me to convert to? I'd like to do a test track and send it your way to make sure you can open it to your liking.

These are all the formats so I'm guessing that it'll be able to do something to your liking:

Thanks!

So, I was able to output my GPS track and import it into the following site:

http://www.gpsvisualizer.com/index.html

Seemed to work great, so I think I should be good. Please let me know if your program supports the Magellan Meridian format, otherwise, I'll bring my laptop to make the conversion.

Thanks!

FYI and just for the record:

Rigid Wings will not be included in the Open Class. Previous years we included them with a handicap but it proved to be too complicated.

If more than 3 Rigid Wings show up and want to compete, speak with Chip and see what can be arranged.
