Looks like we lost the fight to save Bates as a flying site.

That's too bad. I've flown that site with my PG years ago. It wasn't Torrey or Funston, but it was a beautiful flight.
It sounds (from the article) as though people will still be able to fly there, but I'm not sure how much those flights will be degraded.
