I spoke with Walt and his wife tonight. He's having a glass of wine for the first time in two months. He's very glad to be out of the hospital and at home, surrounded by much of his extended family. Carolann said that even many of his grandchildren are with him.

Walt said he just wants to spend some time enjoying himself now that treatment has been suspended. I asked if there is anything he wished to say to everyone here. He wanted us all to know "that flying at Sylmar was always one of my favorite things."

I told him he would be missed.

I just spoke with Walter. He is mentally strong and in good spirt, but in pain with difficulty breathing, and says he would like to wrap everything up and get it over with.

He is getting a morphine drip installed today.
