This aerial photograph shows the Sylmar Flight Park and surrounding areas, looking south. The landing zones are outlined in blue and yellow. The upper LZ marked in blue is restricted to H4 and P3-4 pilots, and may be used by others only in case of emergency. The large area marked in yellow is primarily for H2-3 and P2 pilots, though it may be used by all. The small yellow area in the distance is for any pilots who over-shoot the primary landing zones. The south-facing slope outlined in red could be used for steep uphill landings in the rare case that one is confronted with a catabatic (north) wind, but the other areas are generally preferred. No part of any landing approach may cross to the west (right) of the 200-foot line shown as a dashed red line, and marked with traffic cones on the field.

The subdivision marked in orange is Santiago Estates, and pilots may fly over these homes. Flying over any other residential areas is strictly prohibited. The purple area is the Sylmar Independent Baseball League (SIBL), and one must not fly over this area when games are in session.
