Thanks for the replies, To answer DQ's deleted reply. This was the falcon league, and you would have to see Lukens launch to understand the gravity of my screw-up. I haven't, nor do I want to quit, but this really makes me realize that I'm not the only one affected by my flying. After the dust settl...

Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good

I had always thought of myself as a better than average pilot, that's probable why complacency played a large roll in what could end up being a career ender for me. A couple of weekends ago the day was looking less than average so a small group of pilots decided to fly Mt. Lukens to change things up...

I believe it is Terry's, he knows it is there and will pick it up as soon as he is available.

Without getting into a protracted debate (which I will not do) Ken took office for the first time Jan. 1 2016. If you have been hounding him for "a number of months" now, I'd cool your jets, give the guy some time.

It was discovered when a group of us launched Lukens and one of us landed there, I chickened out on the way back to Kagel over middle T, turned around to land at the normal big T LZ and was called over to land there.

I never saw the red convertible until I reviewed the video (not that there was a problem with being to close). I didn't experience any abnormal sink on approach however I found a little bit of lift at my staging area (I cut out the 4 or 5 turns while in zero sink. The LZ is also slightly up hill. It...

Landing at alternate LZ in Big T wash

Set-up was a little on the conservative side. After seeing the video a right hand approach may be safer for the vehicles on the road.

Kat And I plan on arriving at Red Rock early afternoon (Friday), we can get at least two sites maybe more depending on availability and interest. 1 camp site can have 8 people. Let me know if you have interest in staying at Red Rock. I will call you after we arrive and let you know how things stand.

We didn't start out going to Jean. Because Vegas had a TFR that was Obama's next stop on his tour. It was Adams idea to go to a place he read about that's called New Jack city in Apple Valley (the name should have been enough of a clue) It turned out to be an abandon gas pipeline road cut over the m...

Rafting was fun and a nice relief to the heat. Apparently the river was higher than last year making it faster. We escaped with several mosquito bites. Awesome trip great memories.

Hey Tom. How can you say you were startled? I can hear your aircraft proximity warning going off moments before I came into frame.

Thanks again for being a good sport.
