I think pilots should help decide which scoring formula they want to use. In this case I was hampered by SeeYou because it only uses OzGap 2005 and Davis's scoring script. If we want to continue to use SeeYou, we would need to create our own script in Pascal by the way. Using FS gives us the most op...

Then I'm not sure we are in agreement. I think leading points help encourage others to lead out. I don't think Rob needs that encouragement. However, the question is, should he be given points for doing so? In this case, we had some pilots that did not really have an opportunity to get the 1st start...

When trying to enable leading points GAP 2000, SeeYou spits out errors, I notified the author (Davis).

Scoring Irregularities

After award presentations, I was part of a discussion about the scoring formulas that were used. Currently SeeYou is using OzGap 2005 where the scoring program by default DOES NOT use leading points, but utilizes arrival time points. There is some serious debate on how that is implemented and which ...

A BIG thank you for all of the help the Sylmartarians did to help show SHGA at its finest. Saw a lot of happy and smiling faces yesterday afternoon. It's all of us working together that makes that happen, from Jay mowing the lawn, Russ keeping the place looking clean, Joe using the leaf blower in th...

Nice day, learned a lot about airtribune and how to run the tasks. Used the app to upload pictures. Really nice and strong lift. Launched towers into a thermal that took me up to over 5k twelve minutes before the first start and pulled into turn point (1500) with altitude to spare. I drove past Kage...

We're going to try this again. Clouds are on the mountain but lifting. If you're inclined to try the live tracking, we've loved to have you. There are two practice tasks already up on Soaring Spot if you do not have airtribune.

Maybe see you out there today.

Throwback Thursday

OK, so I know I'm a day early on this, but I received a phone call from Robert Bustamante today and he was asking about Adam Stone epic XC some years back. Apparently he and Jono were talking about XC flights and ol DQ had never heard of the flight. I told Robert that I would find it, because I alre...

Here's what the task looked like on Airtribune yesterday. This was a practice task OUTSIDE of the comp, so no one could actually fly it, but wanted to see what would appear on the web site. Hoping we get a few others that are willing to signup for the live tracking. I'll be available to assist a few...

Using the airtribune app, Pilots can send photos from their smartphones directly to competition dayblog after they do check-in.

Would encourage all that are participating to do so

Mike Ivey gave me some good feedback yesterday as far as filling out the registration form. Here's some hints as to how you should fill out some of the fields: Participant number: Enter any number you like, if it's available it's all yours, just needs to be unique for the comp. Mobile tel number: Ma...

Yes, I'll be out today and will have a computer with the stuff necessary to put a task together that I'll be participating in as well. I'm also testing live tracking, although the "live" part will not be working until next week. I've begun testing the viability of live tracking during even...

Wireless Everywhere

On Thursday last week I spent most of the afternoon getting everything up and running. Time warner came back out and troubleshot the internet weak signal back to their entry point into the property, so at least the cable run was good. Once we got good signal, speeds directly on the router were very ...
