Friends, Romans, countrymen, pilots, I post here today to make my concession speech in the race for SHGA presidency. I ran a spirited campaign, brought forth the issues I believed were of most importance, inspired debate, and motivated an electorate. An excellent man and a model pilot was elected an...

Well today is the final day to get your ballot in, not Tuesday. What was I thinking; it must have been the 5 different types of chocolate I ate at the holiday desert table. I make a special thanks to Freddy Wagner for his organization of the Holiday Party. I flew with Freddy at Big Sur where he top ...

Hello all, First I would like to make a plea. At our annual holiday party last night we had a wonderful roast of Rome and an exceptional multimedia high-resolution hang gliding experience. But an exit poll of attending pilots applause by loudness for each candidate showed me a slight disadvantage. S...

Re: SHGA Marketing

Why specifically is declining SHGA membership a bad thing? You'r jumping the gun. My third phase to be implemented in my second term would seek to reduce the excessive membership by raising fees and requiring target landing demonstrations. Seriously, there are reasons for and against. Overcrowding ...

Doug Martens 11th hour write in candidate with a plan
Doug Martens throws in 11th hour bid for SHGA write-in President. I know both of the candidates and are fine gentlemen but neither has an action plan but I do. The SHGA membership has dwindled from about 250 to 150 and we need to take measures to stop the slide. If the SGHA was Ford or GM there woul...
