You are correct, Greg, the helipad is at the western end of the Camp 9 compound, just north/east of the road. The picture shows it at the top of the peak where part of the old Nike installation was.

The best insurance is, of course, never having an opportunity to use it. As you, Bob, I despise the fear of 'what if'. But in the world we live in, with actuaries quantifying fear and a greedy legal system, it is impossible to ignore. If you have any assets that can be taken as a result of responsib...

You have liability coverage for your car and home, don't you? Maybe even umbrella insurance, in case those aren't enough. And if you fly a plane, you have liability insurance for that, too. The third party liability insurance provided by the USHPA does not cover a landowner for damages to you, the p...

The stomp test is good enough to allow the pilot to launch and get far enough away from the hill to use his reserve in the event of a failure. That's very comforting , Jonathan. I'm going to check with another source about manufacturer's testing. As I think you know, there have been failures of new...

That certain pilot's wires probably would not have failed, if he had followed the prescribed maintenance interval. The wires were the same age as the glider: 6 years old. Even if the wires passed the 'stomp' test, I doubt any of us would put as much pressure on the side wires as we may encounter in ...

I don't understand all the negativity associated with placing the restrooms in the far corner of the pavilion. It was part of the original design and wish list. But, whatever. Let's get something done that utilizes the $10,000 sewer connection that was paid for prematurely. FYI, Glenn, as it was exp...

Ron and I first heard and then saw the aircraft approaching the three of you when it was just about to cross the dam, inbound. Had anyone flying noticed it at that moment, it may have been possible to take evasive action, if necessary. It was a relatively slow pass. Fortunately, we were on the groun...

I think you've used this one before, Doug. And George Lazenby was the worst Bond this side of David Niven. I think you should look up some good ol' John Deutschendorf. You might even find something Opie likes. It's either that or Death Cab for Cutie. No, wait! Try Bjork, possibly Lady Gaga.

[quote="OP"]I say we just play wheel in the sky on a continuous loop. Man this song never gets old. I'm surprised, Opie. I would have thought you'd opt for "Lovin', Touchin', Squeezin'". Kind of like comfort food for your ears, I imagine. Sorry, Doug, Jon Anderson is a bit esoter...

Your trucks all preceded mine up the hill on Saturday so I believe that one of you may have lost the black tie-down with the metal clamp. Or it could be Friday's crew. Anyway, I think it's still in the Bronco.

Opie, I didn't know your job takes you to Turkmenistan. How was it riding the Alem? Weren't you worried being so close to the northern Iranian border? Or did you find you just fit in?

Looks like a scene from The Walking Dead. Are you trying to tell us something about Mike or the population across the border?
