Joe, that commercial is fantastic. Very appealing. What amazing work. I think I know the exact spot. So fun to watch hang gliding on mainstream media filmed by my neighborhood (Santa Suzanna area) and by Joe. Sweet.

Its very hard to tell as a passenger looking only out the side (your side) and I didn't want to exaggerate. I have never witnessed such an approach so low and east ...

Hang Gliders and B737's near Sylmar

I travel for work alot and rare is a week that I don't get to buzz our mountains in a Southwest jet (wish I buzzed them that often in my glider). Today was a good one. Las Vegas to Burbank, normal over the desert approach over Palmdale. But using the Southward runway at Burbank (somewhat rare), so a...

Thanks,

hi Andy,

oops, I re-read the thread and realized I thought it was a Lara 500. Anyway, yes that "one person" was me but I would be looking for a tandem chute. Sorry for the confusion.

Thanks,
Chad

Lift/Sink Profile for Sylmar Area in 2007

The greater Kagel area (W. Towers to way East) always seems to have certain areas (usually ridges) that kick off usable lift and certain areas that don't. I thought of a way to capture and draw this data. Basically I did some post processing on the gps data from my vario. The real way to look at thi...
