Re: NextGen
It's too bad USHPA and the hang gliding community in general has its head stuck in the sands of the past on the issue of collision avoidance. This is the 21st century. Because of the requirement to see and avoid faster aircraft that can come from any direction, low-speed ultralight aircraft need, a...

FAA NextGen Air Traffic Control & Close Proximity Events
Watch the first few minutes of this edit from Thursday's flight at Crestline... The numbers of close proximity encounters have only been increasing since this new system was activated: https://www.faa.gov/nextgen/ Please pay attention to ...

This sounds to me exactly like Crestline launch. Marshall has two, much better ramps. Yesterday, we had a pilot get turned by a thermal on the Crestline ramp. He did not have the speed or altitude to recover and it cost him a leading edge and other repairs. No injury however. The pilot before him ha...

Re: squad car rack
Yeah, I'll second that. Where is this from? You mean this? I regret not following the clouds to the East. I especially regret not replacing the AAAs in my Garmin Geko. I'll bet if Bob, Doug and I all flew OTB as a team we would have made...

Mr E-Blast
It's Greg "E-Blast" Angsten's and he has been in contact with Kraig/Jonny who may arrange for it's safe return this week. Thanks for posting here. I saw Greg's post on the CSS forum and sent him a note.

Hook Knives Save Lives.
I hope there's a hook knife in the first aid station. It's imperative to be able to cut a pilot way from a crashed glider without disturbing the pilot for risk of spinal cord injury. It may also be necessary to cut a pilot out of his/her harness and clothing while waiting for paramedics to respond. ...

The Titanic was unsinkable, too. It's OK JD, you'll always have Crestline so don't worry about losing Kagel. All I'm saying is, we need to be vigilant. I thought it was Molly Brown who was unsinkable? I think I feel a stage musical song coming on. Watch out Philldor! I'll be back singing and dancin...

It looks like little more than a pitch to sell the entire parcel for $9M http://www.sylmarlandview.com/about.html
I wouldn't hold my breath. The U.S economy is cyclical and we are due for a major contraction long before the investors' pipe dream becomes our worst nightmare.

April 30th 102.6 miles by Paraglider
Congratulations to Mike Lester who hiked to launch then flew 102.6 miles to Whitewater yesterday along with the rest of the group who flew anywhere from La Canada to Yucaipa. Here are the available track logs animated.

A Red-Tail Watches Over Me @ Big-T
It only took me 5 years to figure out hos to make a decent edit from this footage of a resident Big-T red-tailed hawk protecting its territory. Furthermore, Greg Angsten needs something to write about for his much-appreciated SHGA E-blast. Sorry I missed the Spring Air Fest. The weather looked fanta...

.....I have been a bit busy attempting to rig the ArK of the Covenant as a man made thermal generator on top of the volcano. Unfortunately pilots within 100 meters either melt or explode even when welders goggles are used. I haven't seen anything this bad since Deitch thermalled over the antenna fa...
