High Speed Rail will affect the SHGA

Post by greblo »

Don't make the mistake of thinking that the California High Speed Rail won't disrupt your hang gliding activities. You can play a role in if and when this rail line will blast through Sylmar, Kagel Cyn, or Big Tujunga Canyon.

If you're interested, attend the following meeting in the valley.

Turning Sylmar into a transportation hub will raise realestate values in Sylmar. It could also provide incentives to develop the bench and the launch.

California's Bullet Train to Cost $98.5 Billion: What Else That Can Buy.

California is still the most populous state in the nation with 38.8 million residents.

I think that comes out to $3,000 for every California resident for a system that will likely not go as fast as they envision and will take 30 years to build when by that time the technology will be obsolete.

I say buy every Califronian a ballon launched high speed jet powered hang glider that can make the trip in 3 hours from L.A. to San Francisco.

Tethered Balloon lifts your glider up 500 feet from your house to launch altitude.
