There has been a little discussion about future events and a Hurricane UT trip came up. This has been done over the July 4th weekend for a few years and I am wondering if there is much interest in doing it again. We have flown from the Hurricane ridge and Cedar mountain. I would say that the ridge site at least is H3 but both can be big air (and big altitudes).

Zion and Bryce national parks are also nearby.
The Fourth falls on a Wednesday this year which complicates matters a little. I would be game for a trip that starts the weekend before (or ends the weekend after, I guess) but I wonder what others think and how many would go.
There is something to be said for doing it that time of year, despite the heat, because the XC potential is probably best then. We also seemed to have more weather problems when it was done on Memorial Weekend.
For those unfamiliar with our recent trips, we have been staying at this campground between Hurricane and Cedar City where it is higher and cooler.

Something else to consider
Another summer vacation consideration:

I've been here a number of times when I lived in Denver and last summer I was set up and ready to launch when weather moved in and shut us down. Beautiful place sometimes called the Little Owens Valley, with several Fourteeners in the range and hot springs just down the road.
